AREC AdAlert Program

The AREC AdAlert program was launched July 1, 2025 with the goal of improving Arkansas real estate advertising. Please see our Advertising Best Practices Guide as well as general information about the program (below) and an AdAlert submission form at the end of the page.

Program Start Date: July 1, 2025

Effective July 1, 2025, the AREC is taking a new approach to advertising compliance and will need help from those in the industry. AdAlert is a new way for licensees and consumers to report improper advertising. It is a simple, three-step process:

  1. Pictures and details of non-compliant advertising are submitted online through the AREC website;
  2. AREC staff review the submission for compliance with Arkansas Real Estate License Law and Commission Rules; and
  3. If the ad is not compliant, a $100 citation is issued to the agent.

This has been successful in other states and the intent is that this new approach will provide faster action in successfully resolving advertising violations. Agents will have the opportunity to work with their brokers and correct their advertising. Those who do not take corrective action could see increasing fine amounts and more formal disciplinary actions.
