AdAlert FAQs

“Why am I receiving this citation?”

When a citation is issued it has been determined that you are not in compliance with Arkansas Real Estate License Law and Arkansas Real Estate Commission (AREC) Rules regarding advertising.

“How do I pay the citation?”

Payments can be made by personal or business check, cashier’s check, or money order. Payments should be mailed or delivered to the AREC office with a signed copy of the citation.

“Can I appeal this citation?”

Citations can be disputed within 30 days of issuance using the Citation Dispute Form at https://bit.ly/ARECCitationDispute or by checking the AREC website.

“What happens if I don’t pay or dispute the citation within 30 days?”

Failure to respond to this citation may result in a Formal Hearing before the Arkansas Real Estate Commission. A Formal Hearing is a disciplinary action and may be reported in the AREC newsletter, published on the AREC website, and made a permanent part of your license history.

“Will this citation be published in the AREC newsletter?”

A citation is not a formal action against your license. Therefore, it will not be printed in the AREC newsletter or on the website, nor will it appear on your license history.

***Note that paying the citation is only part of your responsibility in addressing the citation. You must also correct the advertising in question. Failure to do so may result in formal disciplinary action.
