Property Management Licensee Information

To apply for your property management license, complete the application form and send it to the address above. Make sure all required documents as shown below are included with your application. Application Forms are available HERE.

General Requirements

The Arkansas Real Estate License Examinations are developed and administered by Pearson VUE, a National Independent Testing Company. The testing method in Arkansas is an electronic system that is PC-based which eliminates the use of paper answer sheets. The PC-based program is easy to operate. Knowledge of computers and typing is NOT required or needed. Further information about Pearson VUE and the examination process, including an Application for Examination can be found in the “Real Estate Candidate Handbook”, which is available at most schools and providers of Real Estate Education.

Educational Requirements

Official transcript or original certificate(s) indicating successful completion of the following requirements:

Associate Applicants

  • 30 hours of property management education, which must include property management principles and practices, from an accredited post-secondary school or a school or organization licensed by the Arkansas Real Estate Commission or school or organization approved by a real estate licensing jurisdiction deemed equivalent by the Commission. [A.C.A. § 17-42-303 and Commission Regulation 17 CAR § 220-401]

Broker Applicants

  • 60 hours of property management education, completed within 36 months immediately preceding the date of application, which must include property management principles and practices, including 30 hours of property management supervision best practices; from an accredited post-secondary school or a school or organization licensed by the Arkansas Real Estate Commission or school or organization approved by a real estate licensing jurisdiction deemed equivalent by the Commission. Experience Requirement (Broker applicants only)

Proof that applicant has one of the following:

State and Federal Background Check

A State and Federal background check will be initiated after the application is processed by the Commission.

Military Members, Veterans, and Spouses

Active duty military members, returning military veterans and spouses may qualify for expedited application processing. Those active duty military members; returning military veterans and spouses who hold a substantially equivalent real estate license issued by another jurisdiction may qualify for automatic licensure under A.C.A. § 17-1-106.

Post-Licensure Requirement

Each salesperson and broker will complete a post-license education course or courses as established by the Commission. Said course(s) must be completed within six (6) months of initial licensure to remain active. [A.C.A. § 17-42-303(c)(1); 17-42-307(d) & Reg 11.5].
